Our Founder

As an Evangelist of Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor Samuelkutty Mathai has been ministering to people from diverse backgrounds. The president of both Indian Christian Mission and Faith Fellowship Church, he is also the Director of Faith Celebration Bible College, Indian Christian Mission Schools, and Kochas Child Development Centre. As the Chief Editor of Viswasi Malayalam monthly, he helps to edify different categories of readers.

It was on January 22, 1975 that Pastor Samuelkutty Mathai reached Delhi from a village in Kerala about 3000 km away in search of a job. Starting with a small job, he later became the manager of Sabina Printing Press and remained in that post for ten years. In 1980, he married Elizabeth, she has been an ideal partner in his ministry and life. God blessed them with three children, Sabina, Samson and Sonia. The eldest daughter Sabina, a trained nurse is married to Shibu Thampi who is an architectural designer. The only son, Samson Samuel is pursuing his theological studies in the USA after completing courses in New Theological college, Dehradun, and Union Biblical Seminary, Pune. He is married to Sravanti Mottpaly, who is also a theological graduate. The youngest daughter Sonia is a post graduate nurse and is married to Shyju John, who is pursuing his theological degree. They have 5 grand children: Suhana, Sandra, Suhas, Sancia and Shalom.

Even before dedicating himself to fulltime ministry, Pastor Samuelkutty Mathai was very active in evangelism. He was instrumental in pioneering Sharon Fellowship Church in North India. In 1977, he started the Faridabad Christian Youth Movement with the aim to reach the unreached in Haryana. He served as the joint secretary of Christian Evangelical Movement in North India. Later he became the General Secretary of Pentecostal Youth Fellowship in Delhi for three and a half years.

In the year 1989, God reminded him of his call and gave a vision to start a new ministry. At the age of 21, he had committed himself to the ministry of God after experiencing the divine healing power when struck by a lethal disease. And now when God told him it was about time he fulfilled his commitment, he tried to avoid taking the responsibility of a full time ministry citing many excuses. But the definite call of God and the burden of the perishing souls made him put his foot forward to tread the path of faith and realize his vision. Although very few people helped and encouraged him, God led him in a particular way. A year later, Indian Christian Mission (ICM) was born.

Pastor Samuelkutty Mathai envisages a ministry of greater dimensions. He plans to promote projects which will help reflect the compassion and love of Jesus Christ. Lack of resources often comes in the way of realizing many such projects; but, this missionary firmly believes that God will make all his dreams come true.
